It’s safe to say that there’s a lot going on in the world right now and it’s easy to be clouded by feelings of despair and hopelessness. For us as individuals it can seem impossible for us to provide help that will have any significant impact. Yes, in the grand scheme of things that is true but us as individuals have the power to make a significant impact – on someone else’s day.

Random acts of kindness allow us to do this. They can be simple, free and easy or big, grand and cost some money but either way they can end up having a massive impact. You never know what a person may be going through but spreading some little random acts of kindness can instantly lift a person’s mood. Plus, it’ll make you feel good too.

Below are 10 random acts of kindness. Give them a go. It doesn’t have to cost you anything to brighten someone else’s day.

1 – Send a letter to a friend or relative, even if they live close by. Everyone loves a happy mail day.

2 – Let someone go in front of you in line.

3 – Pay it forward. Buying a coffee from a café? Why not pay for an extra one for the next customer.

4 – Make extra dinner and deliver to a friend or neighbour.

5 – Leave a thank you note for the postie.

6 – Compliment a stranger.

7 – Plant a tree or some flowers, Mother Earth (and the bees) deserve a little kindness too. Plus, if you plant flowers you’ll get to enjoy them as well, win-win!

8 – Write an online review for a small business. Times are tough for small businesses, show them some love and let them know they’re doing a great job.

9 – Pick some flowers from your garden and leave them on your neighbours’ doorstep.

10 – Offer free babysitting to some busy, tired parents. Give them some time to relax and enjoy some quality me time.

Also remember to be kind to yourself. You deserve kindness too!
